Note that this is a fee required activity unless you are a member. So if you want to hike for an hour or so be ready to pay per person. Might as well call it the Anne Springs Payway. Who would think you would have to pay to use a greenway. Disappointed that you just can't hike the trails without feeling gouged.
While this is a private reserve, it is open to public for a small fee or $49 (individual) a year. This maintains the property for everyone. Even if you don't realize it, you pay in taxes to maintain state parks. This is a small amount to keep it nice.
Join for $49 a year.
Love the Greenway. It's huge and has tons of trails. I have been a member for almost a year and still haven't been able to discover all it has to offer. I visit at least once a week to go to the dog park, which is great. I have visited other public dog parks and this one by far is the best. It has a huge fenced in off leash trail area with lake access just for dogs, a small dogs enclosed area, and a large dogs enclosed area. I would rather pay a small fee to use this greenway and it's amenities compared to others in the area.
It's $5 per person to hike. This is not gouging. It is a private venue, but the public can use by paying a fee. Or become a member.
